LPHS is 1 of the 110 high schools in the Chicago Public School system. It is comprised of grades 9 through 12 and is accredited by the State of Illinois and the North Central Association.
The mission of LPHS is to excel in all programs and subjects. The school is committed to a continuous process of academic improvement, which includes students, parents, faculty and community involvement. LPHS is proud of its diverse student body. The high school enrolls students from over 150 elementary schools. Almost every ethnic group is represented in the student body. LPHS values its diverse academic, ethnic and socioeconomic school culture. LPHS has various academic programs including: Honors, Double Honors, Advanced Placements (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB). Eighty percent of students are enrolled in one of the three magnet programs: Performing Arts, Double Honors, or International Baccalaureate. |
