NEEDS ASSESSMENT
In an effort to better understand the transition process among freshman at Lincoln Park High School, we created a needs assessment guided by the American School Counselors Association (ASCA, 2004) domains: academic, personal/social, college/career. The needs assessment, composed of 11 questions, varied in format style and was given to the students to collect perception data and identify program needs. The survey included both quantitative data that was used for gathering measurable variables along a three-point scale and qualitative data that included open-ended questions using narrative descriptions.
The survey was administered electronically utilizing Qualtrics due to participant selection and sample size. The school was given a week to administer the survey. We were able to obtain 376 completed surveys from a pool of 634 freshman students. Below is the link to the survey as well as the results of our needs assessment.
